Mackerel are easily identified - they are torpedo shaped with black near vertical stripes on the back. Deeply forked tails with silver bellies.

Mackerel are a tasty and very healthy fish being packed with Omega-3 oil.
Mackerel is delicious smoked, either as fillets or whole. It is also great on the BBQ.
